Best season to visit Goa

The best time to visit Goa is from November to February. The temperature during this season will be 21⁰C to 28⁰C. During this season the weather will be pleasant and perfect to laze around the beaches of Goa.

I visited Goa during the month of April, it was a bit sunny but still, I had a good time.

How to reach Goa?

The best option to reach Goa is by Train, we can really enjoy the scenery of nature. But I travelled by airlines because of the pandemic situation, we did not find any trains to reach Goa from Chennai.

We boarded the flight by noon 12.00 pm and reached Goa around 1.30 pm. It was a quite good journey. Because of this pandemic situation, we had a lot of checks and health screening which took us a quite long time to come out of the Goa airport.

Our First Day

I reached Goa around 1.30pm by afternoon and as soon as we reached the airport we took a taxi and reached Panjim which is the capital of Goa. It is also called Panaji.  After reaching Panaji we rented a 2-wheeler and then we went to Pinnacle Holiday Homes where we stayed.

We stayed at Pinnacle Holiday Homes, which was a kind of homestay, it was very pleasant and good. We planned to explore North Goa first and then we thought of exploring South Goa. After a short nap in the room then we got fresh ourselves and then we went to Baga Beach by evening around 5.30pm, to enjoy the beauty of the sunset.

We reached Baga Beach which is almost 2.9km from our stay, by 5,45pm we reached the Baga beach and the beach was a little crowdy, but the beach was so good, we enjoyed taking a long walk on the shore, then enjoyed the sunset, later we had a good candlelight dinner facing the sea. It was an awesome night at Baga Beach with full of light around the shore, then finally we returned to our room.

Our Second Day

The morning after breakfast we started our first, we headed to Candolim Beach, the beach was very calm and then we planned for a dolphin ride, and it was such an awesome experience. I felt a little scared because the boat speed was high and the boat was heading in the opposite direction of the waves so that the ride was very bumpy and scary.

And when we reached the place where the dolphins were jumping, then the boat speed was reduced. The place was very beautiful to see, there was a lot of dolphins jumping and diving here and there. Totally it was an awesome experience to admire the beauty of the dolphins.

After exploring Candolim Beach, then we went to Calangute Beach. The beach was very good, neat and calm, we planned to rent the Canopy chairs and then rested in the chair for more than an hour by looking at the beautiful view of the beach.

Later we planned to visit the Chapora fort. But the time we reached the Chapora Fort, the fort was closed due to COVID restriction. So we just took a few pictures outside of the fort and then we came back to Chapora lower fort, which is nearby Arapora beach. From the fort, we can see the beautiful view of the Arapora beach. I enjoyed the beautiful view of the sea from the fort and took some memorable photos and then we planned to have lunch and we had lunch in a small restaurant near Arapora beach then we went back again to our room where we stayed, we had a short nap and then we planned to enjoy the beautiful sunset evening at Anjuna Beach.

We started around 5:30pm from our room and the beach is almost 5.1km from our stay, we reached the Anjuna beach within 20mins of travel. Anjuna beach was the best ever beautiful beach compared to all other beaches. There were many corols on the beach which looked very beautiful. At the time of 6, the sun started to set which was very beautiful to look at. The waves were a little high at the time but the view was very beautiful. Finally, we planned to have dinner in the restaurant called Salt. Then we returned back to our stay.

Our Third Day

As usual, in the morning we planned to visit Chapora fort, because of the climate before the temperature of the sun gets high we planned to go to Chapora fort. So we started early around 7.30am from our stay. Breakfast was complimentary for us during the stay. From the room it takes 20mins to reach the Chapora fort, it was almost 5.8km from our stay.

We reached Chapora fort around 7.50am, then we parked our vehicle and then we started to walk towards the fort, It was like climbing the small hill, it took around 10 to 15mins for us to climb, because of the humidity it was a bit difficult to breathe. Then finally reached the fort, Chapora fort was very beautiful and we can see the one-half view of North Goa and the beautiful view of the Vagator beach.

After visiting the Chapora fort, then we went to the Vagator beach. The Vagator beach was so good neat and clean, there was a devotional statue in the Vagator beach, and that was a little different compared to all other beaches.

From the Vagator beach, we planned to visit the Morijim beach. From Vagator beach to Morjim beach it took us almost 35 to 40 mins to reach our destination, it is almost 13.9km from Vagator beach. We entered Morjim beach by passing through the resort because we did not find any other way to reach the beach. The Morjim beach was very neat and there were no people on the beach at the time we went, Morjim beach had black sand which was completely different compared to the other beaches and the waves was very calm and good. We almost spent more than 2 hours on the beach just watching the beauty of the calm beach, it was lovely. We had a memorable time and took some memorable pictures on the beach. Then after our time, we planned to return back to our stay.

On the way before reaching our stay we had lunch and then by afternoon around 3pm we reached the room. We took a rest for some time and then we planned and booked a sunset cruise online before one day in Panaji and then evening we started from our stay for the sunset cruise. The cruise starting time was 5.30pm, So we started from our stay around 4.15pm and it is almost 16.2km from our stay. Finally, we reached around 5.10pm to Panaji it took us almost 45 to 50 mins to reach our destination. We booked the cruise name called Paradise Cruise. This Cruise will be sailing in the river called Mandovi, which was very beautiful. We entered the Cruise after the verification of tickets that we booked. Per ticket, the cost was Rs.700.

After entering the cruise we had a good welcome drink and then, after the cruise started there was a welcome dance on the cruise and a lot of entertaining programs, drinks and parties and dance was there which was really good and enjoyable. The cruise will sail till the river joins the sea. Sunset was the most beautiful one which I have never seen so far and then we can see a lot of Casino cruises on the river while we pass through.

We can see the other beautiful view of the bridge named Atal Setu which is one of the most famous and longest bridges in Goa. it was really an awesome view from the cruise during the nighttime. The bridge will be decorated with colourful lights which will be really a beautiful one to see and enjoy.

While booking the tickets the duration of this trip was totally 1 hour 30 mins, but actually, it took around 1 hour 40 mins, So extra 10 mins was there in the trip. It was a good memorable trip for us. For the people who are going to visit Goa, kindly book tickets for this awesome trip and don't miss this experience. Then we started from the Panaji and planned to have dinner again at the same restaurant Salt because the food was very delicious and the appearance of the restaurant was also good. Then we planned to end up the day and return back to our stay.

Our Fourth Day

The fourth day was a little long for us. We planned to vacate the room from Pinnacle Holiday Homes and then we planned to explore South Goa. So by morning around 9.30am, we vacated and handed over the keys and planned for South Goa. We have already booked the stay in South Goa too in the Resort called Rococo Pelton. We had a beautiful long drive in two-wheeler from North Goa to South Goa. It took almost 3 hours 30 mins for us to reach the resort.

We booked a Sea facing room on the shores of Palolem beach, which was really good. After reaching the room we got freshened up and went to have lunch in the resort itself by looking at the beautiful view of the Palolem beach. After having lunch then we came up to the room and had a short nap. After that, we planned to visit Butterfly beach.

From our resort to Butterfly beach was 6.7km, but it took us almost 40 to 45 mins to reach the destination because the path we went through is very adventurous and only till half of the way the two-wheeler can be entered after that we have to walk through the pathways of the forest and the end of the path will be the sea. It was a very good experience but I was a little afraid to pass through the ways because the forest was a little dense and a lot of insects and reptiles was there. But the beach was really an awesome one we spent only less time there because again it takes around 30 mins for us to walk and come out of the forest, so we returned from the beach soon. Then from there, we planned to visit Agonda beach.

Within 20mins we reached Agonda beach from Butterfly beach, Agonda beach was very calm and good, we had a nice evening time on the beach and enjoyed taking some memorable images and then we came back to the resort and had a good evening coffee and had a long walk on the shores of Palolem beach and there were many resorts and small shops, we went for a small purchase and then we had a good candlelight dinner on the shores of Palolem beach and we went to our room back.

Our Fifth Day

We started our beautiful morning bliss by seeing the beautiful waves of the sea and it was a lightly rainy morning so as soon as we woke up, we went to the beach and we enjoyed ourselves there with the waves, It was really good and had a lot of fun. Then after that, we got fresh up and had breakfast in the resort and then we planned to explore the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Morning around 9.30 am we started from the resort and reached the wildlife sanctuary at 10.20 am, which is almost 22.9km from our stay. The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary will be opened from morning 7am to evening 5.30 pm every day. As soon as we reach it, we can find an office at the entrance. We went for a general enquiry to know about the routes of the forest, they gave us the hard copy of the map and with that, they explained how to go inside and what to do. As per their guide, we started moving towards, two-wheelers are allowed inside, but there won't be any signal or tower in our mobiles. But we can find people inside the forest in case of any emergency.

We started to explore the forest and no other visitors or tourist people were there at the time we visit, It was a very thrilling experience for us. With the guidance of the map first, we planned to visit the Treehouse. After one point there was no way to move along with the two-wheeler so we parked our vehicle at one place and started walking it was almost 7 km distance to reach the treehouse by walk. We both started walking inside the forest, the forest was dense and we were hearing a lot of birds sound and many reptiles were moving here and there, So I was totally afraid, but somehow walked and reached the place. The treehouse was really good and awesome but there were too many steps to climb. Somehow climbed and the steps were a little risky to climb. But the house was really good.

Finally, after visiting the treehouse, we planned to return come out of the wildlife sanctuary, we both were very tired and then again we walked all along through the dense forest and then we took our vehicle and then came out of the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Then we planned to return back to our stay. On the way, we had our lunch and then we went to the stay. We had a short nap, then we refreshed and then we planned to visit  Galgibaga Beach. It took us almost 15mins to reach, it is 7.8km from our resort.

Galgibaga beach is the cleanest beach because it is one of the turtle's nesting beaches in Goa. The beach was very calm and good. We had a good walk on the shore and then took some pictures and then we planned to visit Rajbagh beach. It took us almost 10 to 13 mins to reach it and it is 6.5km from Galgibaga Beach.

Rajbagh beach was also very good, we went to the beach by entering inside The LaLiT Golf & Spa Resort, the Resort was also so good and we took some of the pictures of the resort, we visited the beach which is allocated as the private beach for the particular resort which was so good and beautiful.

Next, we planned to visit Patnem beach, It took us almost 7 to 9 mins only to reach Patnem beach and it is 2.8km via The LaLiT Golf & Spa Resort. Compared to other beaches in South Goa, Patnem beach was a little crowded. But the beach was very good and neat even though it is crowded with people. Hence we spent some time there and from there next, we planned to return back to our stay to enjoy the evening on the shores of the Palelom beach. From the Patnem beach, it took us 5 to 7 mins to reach. It is only 1.1 km from Patnem beach to the resort which we stayed.

After reaching the resort, we planned to have a good walk and then planned to have a memorable candlelight dinner in some other restaurant. So we choose the restaurant named Silver Star Restaurant. Had a beautiful and memorable dinner and then we spent some time there on the beach and then went back to our room.

Our Sixth Day

This was the last day of our Goa trip. Morning as soon as we woke up we got freshened and then had breakfast and then vacated the room at 10.20 am. Then we started from Palolem to Panaji. It took us almost 2 hours to reach Panaji then around 12.30 pm we handed over the rented two-wheeler to the place where we paid and took the vehicle. After that, we had a good lunch at the Udupi hotel and then we took a cab to reach the Goa Airport.

We reached the Goa airport around 03:00 pm. We checked in and then we waited for our aircraft. we boarded in flight around 6.40 pm and then we reached Chennai by 8.10 pm. Finally, we reached home. The trip was a very good and awesome experience after a long time.

I hope this blog might be interesting and helpful for the people who wish to visit and travel to Goa.
